Dressed for Success!Â
How to Help Your Child Get Dressed Independently, One Skill at a Time
Socks -  zips - shoelaces - buttons - belts -  formal shorts  - ties...
Step-by-step videos for you and your child, from an experienced paediatric and mental health OT .........
Â
Do mornings turn into a battle over socks, buttons or shoelaces?
Is your child starting school, heading to camp, or getting ready for high school.... and still asking for help with buttons, shoelaces belts or a tie?Â
You're not alone.....and it's not your fault!
Getting dressed is one of the most complex everyday jobs children learn - and something I often help with in OT . It takes two hands working together, small careful movements, planning the steps in order, and patience... often when everyone is tired or in a hurry.
When a skill hasn't clicked yet, it isn't laziness. It's a skill that's still being learned... and I have some tips and tricks that might help
Â
I'm Clare. In Dressed for Success, I share the step-by-step approach I use with children, broken into small, manageable steps you can practise together at home.

What makes this program different
- Made by a paediatric and mental health OT with almost 30 years' experience, so it looks at the real emotional side of learning (frustration, avoidance and confidence) as well as the physical steps.
- Videos made for your child to watch with you, not just instructions for you. Children see each step demonstrated slowly, with practice rounds built in.
- Developmentally sequenced and graded for learning, so children build confidence one step at a time.
- Real mistakes, shown and fixed, so children learn that getting stuck is part of learning...
- Ideas for when it's not clicking, with practical options to make mornings easier while your child keeps learning.
- From the early years to high school, including school uniforms, sport and swimming days, camps, and getting ready for high school.
- One consistent approach across every skill, so your child knows what to expect each time.

Why learn online?
- Learn at your own pace, at a time that suits you. There's no need to fit in appointments or travel.
- Practise at home, where your child gets dressed every day, at calm times of the week.
- Watch as often as you need. Pause, slow down, or go back to any step your child finds tricky.
- Your child can watch too. The kids' videos in Module 2 are made for children to watch with you.
- Start with the skill that matters most right now, and come back to the others when your child is ready.
- Everyone who helps can learn the same way, so your child gets consistent support at home, with grandparents and other carers.
- Flexible and affordable general guidance you can come back to any time during your access period.
An online course offers general guidance and isn't a replacement for individual therapy. If your child needs tailored support, an occupational therapist can assess them individually.
